The Best Hiking Gear for 2019

Hiking is great exercise and a fun way to see amazing scenery. You can enjoy it close to home in National Parks or in dream destinations like Patagonia and the Canadian Rockies. But one of my favorite things about hiking compared to many other active outdoor pursuits is its simplicity—you don’t need a lot of hardware, and it doesn’t require anything you need a car roof rack to carry. But to make your hiking as comfortable and safe as it can be, you still do need some essential gear, and these are the kinds of things you will want to carry.
